Hide near Keang Krachan

BIRD OF THE DAY - BLUE PITTA

LIFER: Grey Peacock Pheasant

One of the things to do in and around Keang Krachan for a naturalist birder is to visit one or more of the hides that have been set up by enterprising locals. [Watch this short video about the hides.]

Originally local people would hunt in the forests and / or clear them for farming.

Nowadays some continue the traditional practice of making water stations that will attract wildlife. Originally the wildlife would be hunted. Today naturalists pay for the viewing. And it is a great show!
