Day 5 - Keang Krachan

Yesterday we spent the majority of the day as far from the gate as possible. Today we concentrated on the lowlands of the park. It was very birdy with a constant stream of new birds to keep us entertained.

We spent the first two hours or so birding the roadsides adjacent to a number of waterholes which, in turn, were adjacent to a number of signs. One, in particular, was advertising the presence of birders.

Speaking of signs; there was also a cracker highlighting butterflies! Of which there were many! See the next blog post!

Signs also warned of elephants. As did their commonly seen dung. Our lead vehicle almost ran into one causing much panic and fast reversing. Our guide, End, claimed that the elephants here were too aggressive and not worth taking the chance with. We had, sadly, no option but to agree without argument. we were all disappointed not to see them though!
