Day 3 - Coastal habitats south of Bangkok - Part B

Post lunch a boat trip along a tall mangrove lined estuary was the plan to see some special waders and shorebirds.

It was largely successful.

Target species included three congeners: Kentish Plover, Malaysian Plover and White faced Plover. All three were recorded. Score.

Also special was the Chinese Egret; although only one of our two boats saw the bird.

Other waders seen included Whimbrel, Common Sandpiper, Terek Sandpiper and Sanderling. Eastern Reef Egrets [dark phase were also seen. A few Common Terns were among the many Little.

We decided to give the second wader spot a miss rather than force a late night when an early start tomorrow is essential!
